This picture I made in december 1979 in Kordofan province, central Sudan.
Look at the size of the tree, compared to the 10 meter long bus.
I believe it is not even a tree but a succulent, one that we keep in small pots in our living room.
Around 1982 my trade in exotic items resulted in an antiques shop "De Gapert" in the center of town.
It did not last much longer than a year, and YES, the bike is one of five that got stolen in that period.
Winters of 1985 and 1986 were cold enough to make this waterfall freeze.
The 'Sonsbeek' is one of several small natural streams flowing through (or mostly under) the city of Arnhem.
